The current IoT (Internet of Things) Big Data explosion often yields costly, underutilized “data swamps.” The urgent need is clear: Europe must champion new technological architectures—sovereign-by-design, radically efficient, and built on intelligent data understanding directly at the edge.

The aspiration for digital autonomy clashes with deep structural dependencies. Furthermore, the sheer volume and velocity of data generated by European industries, cities, and citizens frequently overwhelms traditional cloud-centric processing models.
